DC Man Arrested For Killing Father In Front Of His Two Young Kids: Police

A man from Washington DC has been arrested in connection with shooting and killing a father in front of his two young children, authorities said.

Jarrell David Harris, 27, fatally shot 42 year-old Sedrick Miller in the 2300 block of 18th Street, Northeast around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, March 4, Metropolitan Police said.

Initial investigation found that Miller was carrying an infant in a car seat while holding his 5-year-old's hand, WUSA reports.

Miller's family apparently relocated because of the incident, according to a GoFundMe campaign organized in their honor. Their names were also being concealed for their safety.

"If you are able to provide financial support I will make sure it gets to them," the campaign organizer said. "I am always so appreciative to live in an area with such caring neighbors."

Harris is being charged with first degree murder while armed, police said.
